Rogue Blight Builds: Five Archetypes and How to Choose Yours
How builds actually work in Rogue Blight — stat scaling, status engines, off-hand choices — plus our five documented builds from Strength-crit to double Flame Sword.
Nobody hands you a class in Rogue Blight — builds emerge from the weapon you commit to, the stat you feed it, and the blessings the run offers. That’s good news for replayability and bad news for your first run, so this page gives you the framework and the five archetypes players have already proven on camera.
The three decisions behind every build
- Your scaling stat. Every weapon displays its scaling: red for Strength, green for Dexterity, wands implicitly Intelligence. Feeding the right stat multiplies your entire kit (see Stats Explained).
- Your damage engine. Raw hits are the floor. The real damage comes from an engine that scales with hit count or crits:
- Crit — DEX raises crit chance, STR raises crit damage; the two stack multiplicatively with “always crit” effects.
- Bleed — builds up per hit, then adds flat physical damage taken while active.
- Burn — fire DoT that pairs with flame weapons and meteors.
- Freeze / Shatter — control engines: frozen enemies can’t act; shattered ones take only crits.
- Lifesteal — the Water Dagger’s Life Wave heals you for damage dealt.
- Your off-hand. A shield buys parries, blocks and free survivability; a second weapon of the same family enables dual wield, which trades 40% of each weapon’s damage and status buildup for simultaneous hits. Shield is the default until a build specifically wants the trade.
The five builds we’ve documented
| Build | Stat core | Engine | Best for | Full guide |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Strength & Crit | STR | Crit damage + poise breaks | Bosses, stagger-locking, beginners | Strength-Crit Build |
| Dexterity Bleed | DEX | Bleed + crit chance | Fast clears, stagger-avoidance play | Dex Bleed Build |
| Wand Mage | INT | Elemental skills + mana efficiency | Ranged safety, AoE | Wand Mage Build |
| Double Flame Sword | STR + INT mix | Stacked Burn + dual wield | Bosses you know well | Double Flame Sword Build |
| Water Lifesteal | DEX | Life Wave sustain | Attrition, learning bosses | (covered in Dex Bleed Build notes) |
Blessings are the multiplier
Blessings act as build-defining passives: Nomsa’s Fury (+10% damage per consecutive attack, up to +60%) obviously completes a fast-weapon build, while Shield Recharge (−30% shield skill cooldowns) makes shield play rotational. How to get them, and the full confirmed list, live in the Blessings guide.
