Dex Bleed Build: Fast Weapons, Stacked Bleed and Cheap Crits
The Dexterity-bleed build for Rogue Blight — Bleed Katana and dagger play, how bleed damage works, stat priorities, and the blessings that scale it hardest.
If strength builds win by making each hit count, the dex-bleed build wins by never stopping. It’s the build one streamer used to shred large monsters with daggers on camera, and it’s arguably the strongest status engine in the launch build because bleed is both a DoT and a damage amplifier.
How bleed actually works
Rogue Blight’s status system applies effects through buildup: every hit adds a share, the bar decays between hits, and at 100% the effect lands (the game’s tutorial walks through this with a worked example). While bleed is active:
- The target takes the bleed’s damage-over-time, and
- players report that hits into a bleeding enemy deal bonus physical damage — a mid-run dagger run measured roughly +50 per hit on top of the swing.
That second part is the engine: fast weapons don’t just apply bleed quickly, they also collect the +50 bonus on every swing while it’s up.
The core loop
- Apply bleed with two or three fast hits. Daggers and the Bleed Katana (confirmed in the game’s own equipment UI) reach 100% quickly, especially upgraded.
- Keep swinging through it. The bonus physical damage rewards continuous pressure, not hit-and-run.
- Reapply as it expires. The game blocks re-applying an active status, so time your second bleed to land as the first ends.
Stat priority
| Priority | Stat | Why |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Dexterity | Crit chance + stamina regen; both feed a build that attacks constantly. |
| 2 | Strength | Crit damage converts your high hit rate into burst. |
| 3 | Status-boost lines | Gear with status application % makes bleed stick on elites. |
Weapon shopping list
- Bleed Dagger — the on-ramp; cheap, fast, applies bleed alone.
- Bleed Katana — the upgrade path: katana speed with longer reach, STR/DEX-friendly.
- Water Dagger (off-hand) — Life Wave heals you for damage dealt; in a build that never stops attacking, it’s a permanent regeneration engine.
- Throwing-dagger relic — one documented trinket fires three bleeding daggers every 4.5 seconds; free bleed buildup between swings.
Blessings that complete it
- Execution-style blessings — players report blessings that instantly kill enemies below ~30% HP when struck from behind. Footage confirms a catch: it works on basic enemies only, never bosses or mini-bosses — but a bleed build melts trash mobs into that threshold constantly.
- Crit-chance lines — DEX builds crit often, and crits feed everything.
- Attack-speed or stamina-cost reductions — the build’s ceiling is “how often can I swing”.
Common mistakes
- Bleed-stacking into a frozen enemy — freeze controls but stops your hit flow; choose one crowd-control engine per fight.
- Going dual wield too early. Dual daggers hit simultaneously but each applies 40% less status buildup — ironically slowing your bleed. It only pays off with heavily upgraded daggers (see Dual Wield).
- Trading hits to keep pressure. The build tempts greed; your stamina regen exists so you can dodge and keep swinging.
